This month marks 13 years since I decided to follow my dreams and start a company that stood for everything that is important to me. Since that day, my dream and my passion have become the dreams and passions of many others. I believe it’s because, in the end, people are good and they want what is best for everybody.
In the past 13 years Pangea has spread around the globe. We have been challenged, and we have proven that a company whose core belief is that ALL stakeholders, from farmers to customers, must be treated with respect and as equals…all while having a deep understanding that the end consumer is always our Mother Earth, can thrive and succeed.
Over the past several years it has become one of my passions to help find solutions to the issue of the inequality of wealth. We have built great relationships with our retail partners over the years. Ultimately, part of our wish and our mission has evolved and it is our desire to share the success, the wealth and the passion of this brand with everybody.
On April 22nd Pangea launched a new social selling division. We have been working on this project for two years and we are very proud of what we have created. Through this new model anybody in the US can become a Pangea Beauty Ecologist.
What does that mean?…It means that for $199 we will send you over $500 worth of full size Pangea products, your very own Pangea website such as www.pangeaorganics.com/yourname and an FDIC insured Bank Account with the option to opt-in for a Pangea branded Visa Debit card.
How you develop your Pangea business is up to you. With no monthly minimums to earn 20-35% commission, sharing your love for Pangea will come naturally to you. You can post your website to your Facebook account or email it to your friends and family. When they purchase from your site the product is shipped directly to your customers and your commission is put on your new Pangea Visa Debit card…it’s that simple. To build your business larger you will want to have Pangea home parties and build a team, where you will earn team bonuses. When you reach director level by November 30th we will take you to Brazil to relax on the beach and go on a life altering trip into the Amazon to take part in the harvesting of the Acai berries that go into our award-winning Mask.
So far it has been an amazing journey with nearly 500 Beauty Ecologists in 44 states already signed up! We would be honored if you would join our Movement and be a big part in redefining the way business is conducted, as well as, helping to get clean, organic, safe products to the masses.
Cheers to the future!

The revolution that we seek starts with our dedication to strive and to make better decisions in every moment; not only for ourselves but for the world around us. In the hearts of all humans you will find a want to find relevance. When we talk of relevance we generally think big. What mark can we make on this earth and in this life? We tend to get ahead of ourselves and lose motivation based on our own internal feasibility study. We are constantly running plays on what we think is possible, how long it will take and what we need to have to make something happen.
The truth is that anything is possible, yet if we do not take the first steps nothing is possible. The key is to spend more time understanding yourself and allowing yourself to know what you are capable of and less time telling yourself what you think you can’t do.
You have to make choices you’ve never made, to do things you’ve never done.

In our lives, our minds collect countless memories of our experiences with the world. Most of these experiences revolve around the special people in our lives - our friends, family, significant others, and so on. We don’t often think of the heart as an organ that stores memories, but if you listen closely you’ll find that it does.
On a recent trip to Egypt, I visited the pyramids in Giza. There I learned that during the mummification process the brain was discarded, yet the heart was left intact inside the body – in fact, it was the sole organ taken to the afterlife. I think it’s important to learn from past experiences, but it is most important to know that the heart, like other muscles in the body, becomes stronger when it tears. Try not to let past experiences rob you of present ones…freedom lies on the other side of what we fear most.

Imagine a conversation with one other person. Think about your body language and gestures versus the actual words coming out of your mouth. Think about being active in the conversation versus simply observing. Think about the other person talking and gesturing. Now stop, slow down, and really try to understand what the other person is trying to communicate. You may notice that your body receives the information and immediately reacts, changing your body language before you have a chance to speak. It’s as if your body digests the conversation first and then sends the beta to your mind for processing. It’s as if our minds are truly separate from our bodies, and therefore separate from our hearts.
The mind has so many mechanisms that are entangled with and connected to our ego that we are often unable to decipher what is really being said. We often hear something completely different through the filter of our own mind. This can cause quite a bit of confusion, and often we find that language fails the best of conversation.
How can we learn to truly communicate? First we must realize that the heart and body receive information while the mind takes information. If we pay attention to our hearts and bodies, we may find it easier to understand what is being spoken. The same goes for how we try to communicate with others.
The heart needs no translation if we are willing to listen.
Enjoy the summer!

Dear Readers,
Most parents teach their kids to say “Thank you” when somebody does something for them or gives them something, but a true sense of gratitude is a bit more complicated to understand. Gratefulness is a state of being that is born from the understanding that in every situation, there is space to be thankful. Whether the situation is positive or not is irrelevant: there is always space. This is not an emotion that can be forced – it is one that is either inherent or learned through finding a deeper understanding of the multitude of things that our minds and hearts can embrace. Through this understanding, our minds will eventually be set free.
People who develop a true sense of gratefulness tend to have a higher overall sense of happiness and positive wellbeing; this is because gratefulness creates room in the heart to help us work through all of the things life throws our way. It is when things really fall apart that we need this deep understanding to move through any situation with grace.
My Personal Mantra:
If you feel lost, be grateful
If you feel defeated, feel grateful
If you feel unheard, feel grateful
If you feel hurt, feel grateful
If you feel alone, feel grateful
No one can take away your gratitude when you learn that it is the light that guides you in your darkest hour.
Feel it.
Love it.
Live it.

Recently I’ve noticed my mind creating a system to weigh each experience that I have. When I observe the process, I notice that it begins with taking the immediate outcome versus the long term advantage into account. I’ve noticed that the long term advantage tends to supersede any previously held thoughts or conceptions I might have had. In theory, our mind’s ability to sort through the millions of experiences we have every day is quite remarkable…or is it? I’ve been trying to break the patterns in my own mind since I was 15; they tend to hinder rather than contribute to my growth as a human being. As a culture, it seems that holding onto old paradigms tends to only hold us back.
Let’s take a closer look at why we often cling to what we know (or what we think we know). When we are born, our truths are directly taken from our immediate surroundings. We have no choice but to trust in what is familiar to us. As we grow older we start to reach out, creating our own understanding of the world. At some point, most of us cultivate an understanding of concepts and ideals that make us feel “comfortable” and we stick to them.
“Breaking open the head” has been an extremely important part of my life. It’s a concept that my friend Daniel Pinchbeck explains in his book of the same title. It boils down to this: allow yourself to truly experience everything and everyone else around you without judgment or preconceived notions. Freedom awaits those who free their minds.
Enjoy the trip.

People often ask me how I found my path. I think it’s a common question because we’re all searching for our true passion in life. To me, the key to finding our purpose is to first find true happiness within ourselves. When I think of true happiness, I think of the kind of happiness that is not attached to another person or thing. True happiness cannot be found by obtaining something or having somebody; it exists in understanding, appreciation, and the ability to be present. Twelve years ago, when I was backpacking through India, I read a story. It went something like this…
A middle-aged man approached the Buddha and said, “Buddha… I want happiness,” and the Buddha smiled brightly and said “That is easy, first remove the ‘I’, that is ego, then remove the ‘want’, that is desire, and then what are you left with…?”
When we spend our lives just “wanting,” we tend to get lost. We forget about what we have and are unable to find appreciation in the present moment.
Several months later, I was walking down a street in Cambodia. It was a beautiful, sunny day. Up ahead, I saw a young man sitting in the dirt on the side of the road. He was missing an arm and had propped himself up on some old burlap rice sacks. He was carving a 7-foot statue of Ganesha, the Hindu deity, and he had a huge smile on his face. I sat down next to him and asked him if he had lost his arm in a land mine, and he said yes. I asked him what made him happy and he said that he loved practicing devotion by carving, and that it was very nice outside. He explained how fortunate he felt that God had allowed him to keep his right arm so that he could continue to carve stone. Since that day, my perception of my own situation has never been the same. Two days later, I was in a temple in Angkor Wat and decided to start a company called Pangea.
True happiness is not about finding our path – it’s about finding the fertile soil in which our lives can grow and change.

This is the year of the Dragon.
The Dragon is the only mythical creature in the Chinese Zodiac and it is the mightiest. The Dragon is a visionary. The ambition and persistence of the Dragon is unparalleled; it is unmoved by the challenges it encounters. In fact, the Dragon thrives in adversity. People born in the year of the Dragon are primed for success, but they also tend to burn the candle at both ends, leaving them with a sense of emptiness.
As we walk through this life, we often catch ourselves admiring the strengths and talents of others. As we learn and grow, we will begin to discover that life is never perfect. It will always be a practice, and this is a beautiful thing.
There is no “one thing” that can fulfill our soul…no experience, skill, or relationship can do that for us. We can feel most fulfilled when we exist solely in the present. There is great wisdom in the moment - not needing to live in the past or the future. When we realize that we cannot affect anything other than right here, right now, we start to experience something greater than any adventure.
So this year, don’t be afraid to spread your wings, breathe fire, reach for the stars, fulfill your dreams, and balance your inner Dragon. Be present. There is wisdom waiting for you in every moment.
Strength and wisdom,
Joshua Scott Onysko
